Traful Sweater is a round yoke sweater worked seamlessly in the round, from the top down. The yoke is decorated with slipped stitches in a contrasting color, following an intuitive and easy-to-memorize pattern. Optionally, to shape the neckline and make the back slightly longer, German Short Rows are incorporated before separating the sleeves from the body and again before the lower body edge. As a distinctive finishing touch, the design features a slipped-stitch border on both the body and the sleeves. Since the sweater is worked top-down, the length of both sleeves and body can be easily adjusted to your preferences.
Villa Traful is a small village in Argentine Patagonia, a dreamlike place I visited on my most recent trip to the south of the continent in early 2024.
One sample is knitted with Bagual Wool and the other with Rowan Felted Tweed.
